Job summary

Hartford HealthCare's Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington, CT is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the OR team. This role involves direct and indirect patient care in the operating room, with 4 eight-hour shifts per week and on-call rotation.

You will work under the nursing department's philosophy, provide education and develop care plans for patients and families, and collaborate with the care team to ensure safety and high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Maintains current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Connecticut.
• Bachelor's degree in field of Nursing preferred.
• Minimum 1 year OR nursing experience required.

Shift Detail: This posting is for 4 8-hour shifts per week with on-call rotation consisting of typically 1 overnight per week as well as weekend on-call rotation typically 1 weekend every 7-8 weeks

Registered Nurses utilize the nursing process (assessment, planning, intervention, documentation, and evaluation) to provide direct and indirect patient care based on area(s) assigned, addressing the age appropriate needs of all patients.

Follows nursing department philosophies, policies and procedures to develop unique education and care plans for each patient and provide appropriate education and support for family members.

Utilizes judgment, knowledge and understanding of patient and family needs when directing ancillary staff.

Responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction (patient, family, physician, others), maintaining patient confidentiality and being sensitive to the age specific patient needs for comfort, privacy and generalized care. Incumbents of this position will annually complete the attached competency requirements specific to their area(s) of responsibility.
