The role requires OR circulation experience, ACLS/PALS certifications, a MT RN license, and flexibility for on-call shifts. BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; ADN required; BSN preferred.
• Active Montana RN license (or compact/endorsement eligibility).
• ACLS and PALS certifications required; CNOR desired.
• OR circulating experience preferred; Scrub nurse capability a plus.
• Strong asepsis knowledge and electronic charting skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and evaluate intraoperative patient care throughout surgery.
• Adhere to AORN standards and documentation.
• Coordinate sterile field, patient positioning, and room workflow.
• Supervise Surgical Technicians and materials staff in the OR.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and Nurse Manager for outcomes.
• Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours cases.
• Dual-function as Scrub Nurse when needed.

Location: Great Falls, Montana

We have partnered closely with a prominent regional healthcare system to secure a full-time, dedicated nursing professional for their surgical services division. We are currently seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room (OR) Circulator to join their clinical team. This position is ideal for an RN looking for a supportive environment that emphasizes excellent nurse-to-patient ratios, robust administrative backing, and a strong culture of surgical excellence.

Responsibilities:

• Plan, implement, and evaluate comprehensive clinical care for patients throughout the intraoperative phase of surgery.
• Ensure all patient care, safety interventions, and surgical documentation strictly adhere to AORN standards, recommended practices, and institutional guidelines.
• Act as the vital patient advocate and coordinator in the OR, managing the sterile field setup, patient positioning, and room workflow.
• Provide clinical direction and collaborative support to Surgical Technicians, Instrument Technicians, and Materials Management clerks within the room.
• Work in close synchronization with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the Nurse Manager to ensure excellent patient outcomes.
• Participate in the departmental on-call rotation to support urgent, emergent, or scheduled after-hours surgical cases.
• Maintain the ability to dual-function as a Scrub Nurse when clinically or operationally indicated.

Qualifications:

• Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred).
• Licensure: Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the State of Montana (or immediate compact/endorsement eligibility).
• Certifications: Core certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) are required. CNOR national certification is highly desired.
• Experience: Previous professional Operating Room (OR) circulating experience is highly preferred. The ability or training to function as a Scrub Nurse is a distinct advantage.
• Core Skills: Strong foundational knowledge of basic nursing principles, rigorous application of the principles of asepsis, and customary computer/keyboarding skills for electronic charting.
