Job Description

In this role, you will work with patients in an Ambulatory Surgery Center, preparing them for their surgery and caring for them in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). We care for both inpatient and outpatient populations. You should be able to care for patients in pre-operative and post-operative settings.

Our nurses work in collaborative environments with strong interdisciplinary teams, focused on a patient-centered care model in a diverse workspace. Under the supervision of the Nurse Manager, the registered nurse utilizes evidence-based practices in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act, hospital policies, and medical staff directives. The nurse uses the nursing process to develop a care plan that addresses the physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and educational needs of patients and families.

• Must be available to work 8-hour shifts between 5:00 am and 7:30 pm, Monday through Friday.
• Shifts may extend beyond 7:30 pm based on patient care needs.
• No 10 or 12-hour shifts are available on this unit.

Qualifications

• Current Connecticut RN License.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing school (BSN required).
• 1-2 years of current Medical/Surgical experience required.
• Must be highly motivated, energetic, organized, and capable of multitasking.
• Leadership skills and willingness to take on projects are preferred.
• Ability to serve as a resource on the unit.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association required.
