Job summary

Hartford HealthCare is seeking a Registered Nurse for an Ambulatory Surgery Center role, providing pre-operative and post-anesthesia care (PACU) for inpatient and outpatient populations. You will work under the Nurse Manager with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and patient-centered care.

The ideal candidate will hold a CT RN license, a BSN, and 1–2 years of medical/surgical experience, with strong multitasking and leadership capabilities.

Qualifications

• Must hold current Connecticut RN license on admission.
• BSN degree from an accredited program is required.
• 1–2 years of Medical/Surgical nursing experience required.
• Must be highly motivated, energetic and organized and able to multitask.
• Demonstrated leadership and willingness to take on department projects.
• Ability to serve as a resource on the unit.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required.

Job Description

In this role you will be working with patients in an Ambulatory Surgery center both preparing them for their surgery, and then caring for them in the Post Anesthesia Care area (PACU) We care for both the inpatient and outpatient population. You will possess the ability to care for patients in the pre-operative and post-operative care setting.

Our Nurses work in collaborative environments with strong interdisciplinary teams, focused on a patient centered care model in a richly diverse work space. Under the direction and general supervision of the Nurse Manager, the registered nurse utilizes evidence based practices in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act, policies and procedures of the hospital and as directed by the medical staff. The registered nurse who through knowledge and ability uses the nursing process to develop a plan of care which includes standards of practice to meet the physical, emotional spiritual, cultural and educational needs of the patient and family.

• Must be available to work 8 hour shifts between the hours of 5:00am and 7:30pm M-F
• May be later than 7:30 pm depending on patient care needs
• There are not any 10 or 12 hour shifts available on this unit

Qualifications

• Current Connecticut RN License.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing school (BSN Required).
• Registered Nurse with 1-2 years of current Medical/Surgical experience required.
• Requires a person who is highly motivated, energetic and organized, must be able to multitask.
• Looking for person who has leadership skills and is willing to take on projects and tasks as determined by the needs of the department.
• Looking for someone who has demonstrated ability to be in the resource role on their unit.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association required.
