Job Description: This role involves working with patients in an Ambulatory Surgery Center, preparing them for surgery and caring for them in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). You will care for both inpatient and outpatient populations, handling pre-operative and post-operative care.

Our nurses collaborate within interdisciplinary teams focused on patient-centered care in a diverse environment. Under the supervision of the Nurse Manager, the RN utilizes evidence-based practices in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act, hospital policies, and medical staff directives. The nurse develops individualized care plans addressing the physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and educational needs of patients and families.

  • Availability for 8-hour shifts between 5:00 am and 7:30 pm, Monday through Friday.
  • Shifts may extend beyond 7:30 pm based on patient needs.
  • No 10 or 12-hour shifts are available on this unit.

Qualifications:

  • Current Connecticut RN License.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing school (BSN required).
  • 1-2 years of current Medical/Surgical experience required.
  • Highly motivated, energetic, organized, with multitasking ability.
  • Leadership skills and willingness to take on projects as needed.
  • Ability to serve as a resource on the unit.
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association required.
