Overview

Registered Nurse (RN) – Operating Room – Diagnostic MRI positions ensure high-quality patient care and safety during exams. The role requires skill in operating advanced MRI equipment, maintaining patient confidentiality and professionalism, and a commitment to teamwork, customer service, and ongoing professional development in a healthcare environment.

Responsibilities
  • Providing and maintaining care to patients while undergoing exams.
  • Informing and providing patients with full details and expectations of their procedure.
  • Having knowledge and competency to perform diagnostic MRI exams on a GE/Siemens 1.5/3.0 T magnet.
  • Understanding hazards in the MRI suite to ensure patient wellbeing.
  • Maintaining patient confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Proficiency in using Meditech, Sun Workstation, laser camera, pulse oximeter, power injector, and other applicable equipment for patient safety and throughput.
  • Meeting performance expectations for customer service, teamwork, resource utilization, and staff and self-development as outlined in performance reviews.
  • Performing other duties as assigned to ensure smooth operation of the department/unit.
Qualifications

EDUCATION

ARRT-approved radiology program with two years of experience in radiology required OR graduate of an MRI degree program.

EXPERIENCE

2-3 years experience preferred. Must pass an assessment test on current MRI equipment.

LICENSURE

ARRT MRI required. BLS required.

SPECIAL SKILLS

Must possess willingness to work well with others.
