Job Overview: Founded in 1917, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Rahway is an acute care community hospital providing inpatient and outpatient medical and surgical services. The hospital's emergency department cares for more than 32,000 patients annually. It is a Primary Stroke Center with telemedicine capabilities for 24/7 coverage. The campus includes Care Connection, a 24-bed licensed subacute rehab unit owned by Alaris Health, and Kindred Hospital New Jersey Rahway, a 34-bed long-term acute care hospital for medically complex patients requiring intensive, specialized treatment. The hospital offers extensive therapeutic services including physical, occupational, speech, and hearing therapies. For heart and lung disease patients, cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation services are available.

Qualifications:

• Skilled OR Nurse with Scrub and Circulating RN skills in specialties such as Orthopedics, Podiatry, Urology, General Surgery (Minimally invasive & Robot-assisted), and Vascular Surgery. Must be flexible, a good communicator, and able to work effectively in a team.
• 1-2 years of OR nursing experience.

Required Certifications and Licenses:

• Active NJ RN License or Multistate RN License with NJ Endorsement
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association
• Current ACLS/PALS certification from the American Heart Association
• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing

Scheduling Requirements:

• Full-time, evenings
• 10 hours shift, 11:30 am - 10:00 pm
• On-call rotation (willing to take calls Friday through Sunday)

Essential Functions: The RN organizes and administers individualized, age-specific professional care to patients within an assigned unit, supporting the hospital's mission and standards. Practices in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Standards, Code of Ethics, and other regulatory guidelines. Participates in patient education, discharge planning, and performance improvement activities.
