The casual position offers day/evening 8-hour shifts with 24/7 surgical/anesthesia coverage and opportunities to grow within a patient-focused team.

Qualifications

• Active MN RN license required.
• BLS for Health Care Providers required.
• RN OR experience required.
• BSN degree preferred.
• 2 years OR RN experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient needs and identify expected nursing outcomes.
• Collaborate with patient, family and health team to develop a care plan.
• Develop an individualized perioperative plan based on age and condition.

Surgical Services - Operating Room

• Serving patients of all ages
• 4 Operating Suites
• Services include: General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Urology, OB/GYN, Robotics, Ophthalmology, Podiatry, ENT, Neuro Spine, and Vein Procedures
• Averages 2,600 cases a year.
• Surgical and Anesthesia coverage 24/7
• 60th percentile ranking for Patient Satisfaction.
• Endoscopy/GI department has 2 procedure rooms to serve both outpatients and inpatients for colonoscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy, and EGD.
• Averages 2500 Endoscopy procedures per year

Schedule: This position is casual

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for all assigned patient population(s). The RN is responsible for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act. The RN coordinates care with members of the health care team and delegates responsibilities to others as appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Develops an individualized plan based on age, social and cultural considerations, condition and other relevant needs.

• Collaborates and communicates effectively and respectfully with the patient, family and members of the health care team within and across care settings to promote partnership-based health care
• Demonstrates the ability to advance care by utilizing standards, guidelines, care pathways and continuous improvement to enhance patient outcomes.
• Promotes a culture of evidence based practice (EBP)
