Job Overview

Fairview Range is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for our Operating Room in Hibbing, MN.

With over 55 physicians, Fairview Range Medical Center has the largest surgical staff on the Iron Range with a variety of surgical services offered in areas such as ENT, OB/GYN, Orthopedics, Podiatry, and General Surgery. We are a Level IV trauma center, and perform emergency, inpatient, and outpatient surgeries and procedures.

The OR RN provides perioperative nursing care and oversees the delivery of care to patients undergoing operative or other invasive procedures when functioning as charge nurse and performs other duties as assigned.

Schedule

This is a temporary increase of FTE to be added to existing FTE within the department. Anticipated time frame is from Mid-May thru late August.

• 4 operating rooms
• 17 Same Day Surgery cubicles
• 6 recovery room cubicles
• Average of more than 3000 surgical procedures per year
• Multidisciplinary care team including Physicians, APPs, CRNAs, RNs, Surgical Techs, Instrument Tech/Unit Assistants
• Patient population: pediatric to geriatric

Responsibilities of a Registered Nurse (RN)

• Providing direct patient care considering physical, psychosocial, and spiritual well-being using the nursing process.
• Performing comprehensive assessments upon admission and ongoing, including age-specific criteria.
• Identifying patient needs and nursing diagnoses, developing individualized care plans.

Minimum Requirements

• Current RN license in Minnesota
• Associate’s degree in nursing or RN experience
• Completion of AORN Peri-op 101 course or equivalent experience if no OR RN experience
• Current BLS certification or obtain within 3 months
• Current ACLS certification or obtain within 6 months

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 years OR RN experience
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing
• CNOR certification
