Job description

_Fast-paced, high volume Med Surg Oncology department is looking for top skilled nurses. Is that you?_

**Work location:** Texas Health Fort Worth, 1301 Pennsylvania Ave. Fort Worth, TX 76104

**Work hours:** PRN II (7P-7A) As Needed – Requires at least 3 shifts per 6 week schedule w/ occasional weekend and holiday requirements

**Department highlights:**

  • Fast-Paced, high-volume Oncology Department (35 bed). Patients are admitted for diseases such as Leukemia, Sepsis, Lymphoma, Melanoma, Breast, Kidney/Pancreatic Cancers, pain management, and med/surg overflow

**Here’s What You Need**

  • Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program or Nursing Diploma required
  • BSN preferred
  • One-year experience as a clinical nurse required
  • Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire
  • Current BLS (required) – prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
  • CPI training within 90 days of hire (required)
  • 2+ years of inpatient oncology RN experience and charge/preceptor skills (preferred)
  • Successful completion of the ONS - Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certificate within 6 months of hire required
  • OCN - Oncology Certified Nurse within 2 years of hire preferred

**What You Will Do**

  • Deliver care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
  • Assess the patient
  • Plan the care of the patient
  • Intervene as appropriate
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of interventions
  • Incorporate age-specific safety/infection control measures into patient care
  • Initiate action to meet patient and/or significant others' need for information
  • Maintain continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and during out-of-hospital transfers
