Job summary

Tower Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Reading Hospital oncology unit to evaluate, plan, implement, and document comprehensive nursing care for adult and geriatric patients. You will perform patient tests and administer medications within the RN scope, and educate patients and families to promote independence and understanding of conditions and self-care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.

Oncology Department Overview:

• 27-bed medical/oncology unit that provides care to adult and geriatric medical oncology patients, surgical gynecology patients, sickle cell patients and in-patient hospice patients.
• Most patients have a primary and/or secondary diagnosis of cancer and require treatment of chronic and episodic illness, therapeutic interventions, and side effect management. Care is also provided to patients in the terminal phase of illness.
• Unique services provided include chemotherapy administration and side-effect management, blood administration, management of oncologic emergencies, pain management, psychosocial and spiritual care, and inpatient hospice care.
