Job summary

Health, Inc. is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Oncology Senior for a hospital setting in Dallas, TX. You will provide specialized cancer patient care, coordinate nursing processes, educate families, and lead nursing staff on rotation.

Required are Texas RN licensure or Compact license, BLS, and ongoing oncology certifications. Expect collaboration with a multidisciplinary team and ongoing professional development in oncology nursing.

Qualifications

• ONS Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy certification within six months of role start.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care using the nursing practice model and assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate responses.
• Delegate interventions per Texas Nursing Practice Act and patient needs.
• Perform oncology-related assessments, IV access and central line management.
• Educate patients and families about cancer therapies, side effects, and discharge planning.
• Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with regulations and standards.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and participate in community outreach.
• Provide direction, mentorship, and training to nursing staff as a preceptor/charge nurse on rotation.
• Stay current with oncology nursing practices and certifications.

Position: Registered Nurse (RN) Oncology Senior, responsible for providing specialized cancer patient care within a hospital setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care using the nursing practice model, assessing, diagnosing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient responses.
• Delegate interventions based on Texas Nursing Practice Act and patient needs.
• Perform patient assessments related to cancer and other medical conditions, including managing IV access and central lines.
• Educate patients and families about cancer therapies, side effects, and discharge planning.
• Maintain accurate documentation, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, participate in community outreach, and serve as a resource for staff and patients.
• Provide direction, mentorship, and training to nursing staff, including serving as a preceptor and charge nurse on rotation.
• Stay current with nursing practices, clinical trials, and certifications, including ongoing education in oncology nursing.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
• Minimum of two years of nursing experience.
• Valid RN license from the Texas Board of Nursing or valid Compact RN license.
• Current BLS certification from a recognized provider.
• Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy certification within six months of role start.
