Job summary

Saint Alphonsus Health System is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for its Obstetric Float Pool. You will provide hands-on nursing care across Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and NICU settings in Boise, Nampa, and Ontario campuses, supporting mothers, newborns, and families.

You’ll join a multidisciplinary team with a focus on clinical variety, autonomy, and professional development, while pursuing certifications and licensing across states as needed.

Qualifications

• Idaho or multistate RN license; if multistate, Idaho license must be obtained within 60 days.
• Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience preferred.
• Willingness to obtain Idaho license within 90 days if starting with a multistate license.
• BLS certification is required.
• Willingness to obtain ACLS and NRP within 6 months of hire.
• Willingness to obtain PALS, STABLE and NCC-EFM within one year of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on nursing care across Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and NICU settings.
• Care for patients and families in multiple hospitals and units, maintaining high clinical standards.
• Perform physical and psychosocial assessments to guide individualized care plans.
• Develop, implement and evaluate care plans to promote patient-centered outcomes.
• Administer medications and treatments safely and monitor patient progress.
• Educate patients and families to support recovery and transitions of care.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, case managers, and other care team members.
• Communicate patient status and plans through handoffs and documentation.
• Maintain accurate documentation in line with regulatory standards.
• Utilize equipment and technology safely to support care.

As an experienced nurse in our Obstetric Float Pool, you'll provide care across southwestern Idaho and eastern Oregon in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and NICU settings, making a meaningful difference for mothers, newborns, and families during some of life's most significant moments. You'll practice alongside highly skilled teams at our Boise, Idaho Level II Trauma Center with a Level III NICU, our Nampa, Idaho Level III Trauma Center with a Level II NICU, and our Ontario, Oregon campus, gaining valuable experience across diverse clinical environments and varying levels of maternal and neonatal acuity. • Communicate patient status and care plans effectively through both verbal handoffs and clinical documentation.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards.
• Utilize clinical equipment and technology safely and effectively to support patient care.

Qualifications

• You currently hold an Idaho or multistate RN license. If you hold a multistate license, you are required to obtain your Idaho license within 60 days.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in Labor and Delivery preferred.
• You are willing to obtain an RN license in the state of Oregon within 90 days of start date.
• You have your Basic Life Support (BLS)
• You are willing to obtain your Advance Cardiovascular Life Support for HealthCare Provider (ACLS) certification and NRP within 6 months of hire
• You are willing to obtain PALS, STABLE and NCC-EFM certifications within one year of hire date
