Qualifikationen

• Minimum 1 year RN clinical experience in the acute care setting is required.
• Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in Virginia or have eNLC privileges.
• BLS for Healthcare Provider certification from AHA required on start date.

Inova Fair Oaks Hospital is looking for a dedicated Experienced Registered Nurse to join the team. This role will be Full-time, days (3- 12-hour shifts, 2-12 hour shifts the following week) 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. Sign-on bonus and relocation assistance available for eligible nurses.

TheObservation Unit (OBS)at Inova Fair Oaks Hospital is comprised of 15 beds with rapid patient turnover and discharges per shift (with patients staying for 24 hours or less). The patient population consists of cardiac, neurological, medical, and surgical patients. This position allows for future professional growth by teaching the fast-paced atmosphere of an ER while strengthening critical skills in a medical/surgical setting. Ideal for candidates who possess strong time management skills, work well in a team -paced settings.

Registered Nurse (RN) Observation Unit Job Responsibilities:

• Performs comprehensive patient health assessments by interpreting multiple data sets and synthesizing their relationships.
• Formulates individualized plans of care based on assessment findings and interpreting trends in patient populations to achieve best practice.
• Conducts all patient care in a patient and family centered manner, integrating knowledge, skills and experiences to meet the needs of patients and families throughout the continuum of care.
• Advocates for patients' rights from the patient and family perspective and provides counsel while acting as a resource to resolve issues.
• Accesses resources from all disciplines to achieve desired patient outcomes and coordinates healthcare and alternate services for patient/family transition planning.
• Documents all patient care activities, as per documentation standards, and assists healthcare team members with documentation.
• Evaluates the process to achieve outcomes, anticipates patient variances and makes revisions to plans of care.
• Makes clinical decisions based on experience, patient population data and intuition while promoting the development of clinical decision making of all team members.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an associate’s degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
• Experience: Requires a minimum of 1-year Registered Nurse clinical experience in the acute care setting.
• Certification: Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Virginia or hold a privilege to practice in the State of Virginia under the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC). Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association required upon start.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in Observation, Medical Surgical, ED, PCU, or Cardiac Telemetry strongly preferred.
