Job Summary

Provides OB education and nursing support to OB patients under the supervision of Physicians.

Essential Functions

1. All team members are expected to be knowledgeable and compliant with Prisma Health's values: Inspire health. Serve with compassion. Be the difference.
2. Performs OB work-ups, including the first visit after a positive pregnancy test and providing information on what to expect during pregnancy.
3. Receives and returns all phone calls related to and from OB patients.
4. Calls in prescriptions for OB patients as per physician orders.
5. Reviews all OB labs, involving physicians when results are abnormal.
6. Pre-certifies all deliveries.
7. Performs pre-natal blood work for health assessment.
8. Coordinates OB charts with Labor and Delivery before the due date.
9. Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory/Management Responsibility

• This is a non-management position that reports to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.

Minimum Requirements

1. Education: Associate degree from an accredited school of nursing with RN licensure.
2. Experience: Five (5) years of experience in OB office, Labor and Delivery, or equivalent.

• Team members employed in this role prior to July 1, 2020, are grandfathered under previous educational and experience requirements. They must be certification eligible and obtain required certification within one year.
