Job summary

Advocate Medical Group in Park Ridge, IL seeks a Registered Nurse to join a collaborative, patient-centered team. You will provide and coordinate nursing care, applying evidence-based practice and compassionate communication to support safe patient outcomes.

Schedule options include 4 days per week with 4x10 shifts (7:00-17:30) or 5 days per week with 5x8 shifts (8:00-16:30 or 8:30-17:00). Park Ridge location offers opportunities across services within Advocate Health.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited nursing program.
• Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Minimum of 2 years RN experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
• Use evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and communication to lead efforts for a safe patient environment and best patient experience across the continuum.
• Collaborate with the care team to ensure comprehensive patient care and smooth transitions between shifts.
• Maintain adherence to hospital policies, patient safety protocols, and quality-of-care standards.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

• Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twistfrequentlythroughout the workday.
• Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies.
• Must be able to: push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.
• Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch withabilityto use fine hand manipulation skills for IV insertion and other procedures/functions.
• Maneuver foot pedals on carts or machines.
• Perform physical safety interventions such as patient restraint and verbal de-escalation, if needed.
• May be exposed to chemical and hazardous waste as well as blood and body fluids and communicable disease. Therefore, protective clothing and equipment must bewornas necessary.
• Must be able to respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions.
• Physical Abilities Testing may be required.
• Additionaldepartment specific physical requirements may be identifiedfor unique responsibilities within the department by the nurse leader.
