The Nurse Manager is responsible for the integration, facilitation, and coordination of administrative and clinical practice for the assigned nursing unit(s) with twenty-four hour accountability. They provide management and clinical support to other nursing units and hospital-wide as required. The Nurse Manager serves as a professional role model, mentor, and clinical resource/educator for nurses and other members of the healthcare team. They develop unit goals and objectives with staff based on analysis of clinical and managerial processes to improve patient outcomes and foster a culture of excellence. The Nurse Manager represents the unit and acts as a liaison to internal and external customers. They participate in professional development activities, hospital-wide committees, and demonstrate various management styles. They are involved in unit budget development, monitoring, and variance analysis.
