An established industry player is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for Nights & Weekends to provide essential care to patients in their homes or facilities. This role involves following established care plans, ensuring comfort, and supporting families during critical times. The Registered Nurse (RN)-Nights & Weekends is prepared to handle all on-going needs, in addition to urgent needs of patients and their families after hours in their homes or facility. The RN Nights & Weekends follows the established care plan of the patient while ensuring comfort care to the patient and support to family members.
Location: DC, Largo MD
Schedule: Full-time: 7 shifts per 2 weeks. Hours vary between 5:00pm-8:00am, holiday and weekends.
COVID-19 vaccine required to be completed upon start.
The RN Nights & Weekends visits patients with emergent, critical needs in a timely manner. The RN or LPN Nights & Weekends arranges for, teaches, and supervises nursing care of patients in home care and facility settings in collaboration with other members of the interdisciplinary team. The RN Nights & Weekends makes nursing assessments and uses critical thinking skills to provide care based on evidence-based practice, within scope of practice. May be asked to rotate to other regions/departments.
Experience Requirements
Must have one year of staff nurse experience in a comparable setting/unit. Hospice and/or palliative care experience is strongly preferred.
Education Requirements
Must have a degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program.
Licensure and/or Certification Requirements
Requires licensure from the governing body of practice for the District of Columbia, State of Maryland, and/or the Commonwealth of Virginia, based on the state/jurisdiction of practice. Licensure from compact state is acceptable. Healthcare Provider BLS (CPR) is required to practice in the State of Maryland and the District of Columbia. A CHPN certification is a plus.
Driver's License
Must have a driver's license in good standing and access to a vehicle during working hours.
