Job summary

Inova Alexandria Hospital is seeking an experienced Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) RN for a PRN schedule. Must be able to work day and night shifts, including weekends and holidays.

The NICU is a newly renovated 16-bed Level III unit providing around-the-clock care by neonatologists, nurses and allied professionals. Requirements include 1 year of NICU RN experience, BLS certification, Virginia RN licensure, and a BSN (with ADN holders completing BSN within 5 years).

• Licensed RN or eligible for VA RN licensure

Newborns who are premature or have special needs are well care for around the clock in out centered NICU by specially trained, board-certified neonatologists as well as specialized nurses, respiratory therapists, physical therapists and nutritionists.

NICU PRN Qualifications:

• Experience - 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse, 1 year of NICU RN experience
• Certification - Basic Life Support through AHA
• Licensure - Licensed Registered Nurse or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse
• Education: BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associates Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.

NICU PRN Preferred Qualifications:

• 2 or more years of NICU RN experience
