Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital in Connecticut is seeking a part-time NICU nurse to join our Level 3 unit with 28 beds. You will care for preterm and term neonates needing specialized medical and surgical care.

Responsibilities include attending births, monitoring infant health, educating families, and contributing to quality of care. Current RN licensure in Connecticut and BLS CPR are required; ACLS preferred; BSN preferred.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
  • Current Licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Connecticut.
  • BLS CPR certification; ACLS preferred.
  • Minimum NICU experience: 2 years; Acute Care/Maternity experience preferred; per diem.
  • Per Diem NICU role; part-time schedule.

  • Educate new parents on infant care, breastfeeding, and safety.

At Saint Francis Hospital, the level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) consists of 28 beds. Preterm and term neonates in need of additional medical and surgical management and highly specialized care are admitted to the unit

What you will do
  • Attend births and provide care for infants with medical complications directly after birth
  • Monitor the health of infants suffering from medical issues, such as prematurity or congenial defects
  • Educate new parents on the care of their infant, including basic infant care, breastfeeding, and safety
  • Contributes to overall quality of nursing care through performance improvement techniques that impact patient care positively
  • Communicate effectively (written and verbal) with admin, colleagues, patients and family members
  • Demonstrates problem solving, conflict resolution, and positive communication through teamwork.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Education : Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. BSN graduate preferred
  • Licensure : Current Licensure as a Registered Nurse RN in Connecticut
  • Certification : BLS CPR. ACLS Preferred
  • Preferred Experience: Acute Care, Medical-Surgical or Maternity nursing experience preferred - Minimum of 2 year's NICU experience required for Per Diem
