Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center in Westwood, NJ, is seeking a day shift, full-time Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse to join our clinical team. The RN Staff Nurse will provide direct patient care to neonatal clients, mentor junior staff, and coordinate care with physicians and support services, reporting to the Nurse Manager.

NJ RN licensure, NLN/AACN-accredited program graduate, BLS within 14 days, NRP or ARC certification, and 1-2 years NICU experience are

Qualifications

• RN licensure with New Jersey Board of Nursing
• Graduate of NLN/AACN-accredited nursing program
• BLS certification within 14 days of hire for direct patient care
• NRP Certification or ARC required
• 1–2 years NICU or Special Care Nursery experience

Responsibilities

• Provide care for a defined neonatal patient population to achieve desired outcomes
• Direct and oversee care by other caregivers through delegation, validation, evaluation and coordination
• Coordinate patient care and unit activities among nursing peers, physicians and support services
• Report to the Nurse Manager

Get to Know Your Team:

• Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center is a 128-bed, full-service, acute-care community hospital with a new emergency department, a state-of-the-art maternity center, a women's imaging center, and an ICU.

Responsibilities:

• The RN Staff Nurse functions as a caregiver for a specific patient population in order to achieve desired outcomes.
• This position directs and oversees the care provided by other caregivers through delegation, validation, evaluation, and coordination.
• This position effectively coordinates patient care/unit activities among nursing peers, physicians, and support services.
• The RN Staff Nurse reports to the Nurse Manager.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• Registered Nurse (RN) with the New Jersey Board of Nursing.
• Graduate of an NLN/AACN-accredited program in nursing
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification or the American Red Cross (ARC)
• 1-2 years NICU or Special Care Nursery nursing experience

Preferred Job Requirements:

• Neonatal Nursing certification

Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.
