Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center in Westwood, NJ, is seeking a full-time Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse for day shifts. The RN will care for NICU patients, coordinate multidisciplinary care, and supervise other caregivers under the Nurse Manager.

Ideal candidates hold NJ RN licensure, NLN/AACN-accredited nursing education, and NICU experience with BLS and NRP/ARC certifications. 1–2 years in NICU or Special Care Nursery preferred.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) licensed in New Jersey.
• Graduate of NLN/AACN-accredited nursing program.
• BLS certification within 14 days of hire.
• NRP certification or ARC.
• 1-2 years NICU or Special Care Nursery nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• The RN Staff Nurse serves as caregiver for a specific patient population to achieve desired outcomes.
• Directs and oversees care provided by other caregivers through delegation, validation, evaluation, and coordination.
• Coordinates patient care and unit activities among nursing peers, physicians, and support services.
• Reports to the Nurse Manager.

• Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center is a 128-bed, full-service, acute-care community hospital with a new emergency department, a state-of-the-art maternity center, a women's imaging center, and an ICU.

Responsibilities:

• The RN Staff Nurse functions as a caregiver for a specific patient population in order to achieve desired outcomes.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• Registered Nurse (RN) with the New Jersey Board of Nursing.
• Graduate of an NLN/AACN-accredited program in nursing
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification or the American Red Cross (ARC)
• 1-2 years NICU or Special Care Nursery nursing experience

Preferred Job Requirements:

• Neonatal Nursing certification

Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.
