Job summary

The NICU Registered Nurse at Abrazo Health provides professional, compassionate care to neonates within a Level III NICU. The role coordinates care planning with a multidisciplinary team and delivers individualized bedside nursing care based on the nursing process and patient needs.

The RN maintains continuous evaluation of nursing practice quality to support optimal patient outcomes during the night shift (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM) and participates in ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of hospital-based acute care RN experience in a NICU.
• Nursing degree from an accredited nursing school.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, evidence-based care to critically ill infants.
• Act as a clinical leader by assessing, planning, delegating, and using independent judgment to direct other healthcare team members.
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other disciplines to ensure coordinated patient care.
• Participate in hourly rounding and follow safety guidelines and best practices.
• Supervise and mentor other members of the healthcare team.

Job Summary

This role coordinates care planning with the multidisciplinary team and renders individualized, age-specific, and direct bedside nursing care based on the nursing process and patient needs. The RN systematically evaluates the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice to support optimal patient outcomes.

Job Type: Full Time

Shift: Nights (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)

  • Experience: At least 1 year of current hospital-based acute care RN experience in a NICU.
  • Education: Nursing degree from an accredited nursing school.
  • Certifications:
    • Current RN license in the State of Arizona (or compact license),
    • CPR
    • NRP (required upon orientation completion)
    • ACL as applicable by facility/department
• Preferred Requirements
  • Experience: At least 1 year of Level III NICU experience, including care of infants requiring conventional ventilators, HFOV, central lines, and therapeutic hypothermia.
  • Education: BSN
  • Certifications: Specialty certification a plus.
