Job summary

Abrazo Arrowhead Campus in Glendale, AZ is seeking a NICU Registered Nurse to deliver compassionate, evidence-based care to neonates in our Level III NICU. You will collaborate with physicians and the multidisciplinary team to plan and direct bedside nursing care using the nursing process.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of hospital-based acute care RN experience in NICU, a nursing degree, and an active Arizona RN license (compact license welcomed). CPR, NRP, and ACLS are required.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of hospital-based acute care RN experience in a NICU.
• Nursing degree from an accredited nursing school.
• Current Arizona RN license (or compact), CPR, NRP, ACLS as applicable.
• BSN and Level III NICU experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, evidence-based care to critically ill infants.
• Act as clinical leader by assessing, planning, delegating, and using independent judgment to direct other healthcare team members.
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other disciplines to ensure coordinated patient care.
• Participate in hourly rounding and follow safety guidelines and best practices.
• Supervise and mentor other members of the healthcare team.

The NICU Registered Nurse provides professional, compassionate nursing care to neonates within our Level III NICU. This role coordinates care planning with the multidisciplinary team and renders individualized, age-specific, and direct bedside nursing care based on the nursing process and patient needs. The RN systematically evaluates the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice to support optimal patient outcomes.

• Minimum Requirements
  • Experience: At least 1 year of current hospital-based acute care RN experience in a NICU.
  • Education: Nursing degree from an accredited nursing school.
  • Certifications
    • Current RN license in the State of Arizona (or compact license),
    • CPR
    • NRP (required upon orientation completion)
    • ACLS as applicable by facility/department
• Preferred Requirements
  • Experience: At least 1 year of Level III NICU experience, including care of infants requiring conventional ventilators, HFOV, central lines, and therapeutic hypothermia.
  • Education: BSN
  • Certifications: Specialty certification a plus.
