Job summary

Inova Fairfax Hospital / Inova L.J. Murphy’s Children’s Hospital seeks an experienced NICU RN to join a premier neonatal team in Northern Virginia. The NICU is a Level IV, 108-bed unit serving high-risk infants with comprehensive subspecialty care.

This Full-Time role offers 3x12 rotating day/night shifts (6 weeks day, 6 weeks night) or a night shift option. Orientation requires day and night coverage; competitive benefits apply to eligible team members.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year as a Registered Nurse
• 1 year NICU RN experience required
• BSN from an accredited school or willing to complete BSN within 5 years
• Licensed RN in Virginia or eligible

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the NICU setting
• Monitor and document infant vitals and progress
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
• Assist with orientation for new nurses

Inova L. J. Murphy’s Children's Hospital is home to the largest, most comprehensive subspecialty neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) in the region. Our 108-bed, Level IV NICU cares for high-risk infants requiring specialized care and observation. The NICU is also the first in the nation to receive The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval™ for Prematurity. This certification represents the highest level of care for premature birth patients.

NICU RN Qualifications

• Experience - 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse, 1 year of NICU RN experience required
• Certification - Basic Life Support through AHA
• Licensure - Licensed Registered Nurse or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse
• Education:BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associates Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
