Responsibilities

This program was implemented to help the Newly Graduated Nurse learn critical skills that will be helpful in the transition from school to real-world experience. This program provides the New Grad Nurse the following opportunities:

  • An 8-to-12-week orientation with a Preceptor and Nurse Educator that guides the nurse through important skills of their desired unit.
  • The chance to hone in on the critical skills any nurse needs to be successful.
  • Once the 8-to-12-week program is completed, the nurse will have a two-year commitment to the department in which they were hired.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

  1. Current and valid state RN License.
  2. Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
  3. Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
  4. Current ACLS certificate within 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
  5. Previous acute care hospital experience preferred.
  6. Ventilator management experience preferred.
  7. Medical-Surgical Nurse-Board Certified (RN-BC) or similar certification preferred.
