Job summary

Advocate Lutheran General Hospital, part of the Advocate Health network in Park Ridge, IL, is recruiting new graduate registered nurses for an 8–9 month intensive cohort training program in the operating room and related ASC settings. The program welcomes RNs with OR experience or those transitioning from other specialties.

Completion of an accredited nursing program and an Illinois RN license are required, along with BLS certification and a strong commitment to learning in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited or approved nursing program.
• Registered Nurse license issued by the state where the teammate practices.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Time management and problem-solving skills, willingness to learn new things, team oriented, adaptable to change, strong desire to succeed, and dedicated to the cohort training program.

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care using the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care per standards.
• Use evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, and professional communication to ensure the safest environment and best patient experience.
• Complete 8–10 months of extensive training with a preceptor to prepare for OR nursing.

Where You Will Work:

Hospital based Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) and/or the main Operating Room (OR). New Grad registered nurses and/or registered nurses with experience outside of the Operating room are welcome to apply! Come and start or continue in your dream job with the prestigious Advocate Health hospital network at Advocate’s Lutheran General MAGNET teaching Hospital! Expect 8-9 months of extensive training. Cohort slated to start in November 30th, 2026!

We’re Looking For:

• Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing


• Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices


• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association


• Time management and problem-solving skills, willingness to learn new things, team oriented, adaptable to change, strong desire to succeed, and dedicated to the completion of the cohort training program.

What You’ll Do:

• As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic carein accordance withestablished standards, policies, and procedures.


• Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, andskillsprofessionalcommunication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.


• 8-10 months of extensive training with a preceptor to gain all the knowledge you will need to be successful as an OR nurse!
