Job summary

Atrium Health's Carolinas Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Neurosurgery ICU (NSICU). This 29-bed unit provides care for adolescent to geriatric patients with various neuro conditions, maintaining 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratios and AACN Beacon of Excellence Silver designation.

The RN will coordinate and deliver comprehensive nursing care, utilizing evidence-based practice and clinical decision-making to ensure patient safety and positive outcomes in a high-acuity neuro ICU

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited nursing program.
• Registered Nurse license valid in the practicing state.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association).
• At least 6 months of RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care using the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care.
• Lead efforts to create the safest patient environment and best patient experience across the continuum.

Registered Nurse (RN) - Neurosurgery ICU

Where You Will Work:

The Neurosurgical ICU provides comprehensive patient care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. NSICU is a 29-bed unit with all private rooms,three negative pressure rooms and two fully equipped nursing stations with central monitoring available on either side.Common diagnoses for these patients include but are not limited to subarachnoid hemorrhage, subdural hematoma, epidural hematoma, spinal cord injuries, Code Stroke, head trauma, intracranial hemorrhages, brain tumors, continuous EEG and carotid endarterectomies.The nurses specialize in utilizing the NIHSS, monitoring and manipulating external ventricular devices, subdural drains, and IRRAS. We have a 1:2 ratio and have an AACN Beacon of Excellence Silver Designation.

We're Looking For:

• Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
• Candidates must have at least 6 months of RN experience, this position is not for new grads
• Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association

• As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
• Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
