Atrium Health Floyd Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Neuro unit on 7p-7a (FT). The 23-bed Progressive Care Unit specializes in neurological care with stroke center designation and Advanced Spine Care Certification.

Where You Will Work

Unit Overview

Our unit is a 23-bed Progressive Care Unit specializing in neurological care. We are recognized as a Primary Stroke Center and hold Advanced Spine Care Certification, ensuring the highest standards of treatment and monitoring for complex neurological conditions.

Primary Population
  • Stroke patients requiring specialized interventions
  • Elective spine surgeries with advanced post-operative care
  • Seizure disorders needing continuous observation and management
  • Patients requiring progressive/step-down level monitoring and interventions
Secondary Population

We also provide care for patients with other neurological conditions, including:

  • Myasthenia Gravis
  • Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
  • Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS)
  • Huntington's Disease
  • Dementia and Alzheimer's Disease
Care Approach

Our team delivers comprehensive, evidence-based care tailored to the unique needs of neurological patients, combining advanced monitoring technology with compassionate, patient-centered interventions.

Preferred qualifications(not required)

ACLS

Preferred Experience(not required)

telemetry; critical drips such as Cardizem, Cardene, Amiodarone, Heparin, Insulin; NIHSS; Neuro patient care experience

We're Looking For
  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association

  • As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
