Registered Nurse (RN) Neurology Medicine & Epilepsy Monitoring Unit C53

MEDSTAR HEALTH is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Neurology Medicine & Epilepsy Monitoring Unit C53 in Washington, DC.

Position Overview

The C53 Neurology Medicine & Epilepsy Monitoring Unit is a 14-bed, all private room neurosciences specialty unit at Medstar Georgetown University Hospital, a Magnet-designated hospital. Nurses collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to provide high-quality, patient-centered care to neurological patients, postoperative neurosurgical patients with brain and spine disorders, general medicine patients, and specialized epilepsy monitoring patients.

Unit Highlights

Our neuroscience specialty centers include:

• Epilepsy Center: comprehensive evaluation and treatment of epilepsy, including diagnosis, drug therapy, and epilepsy surgery
• National Parkinson Foundation Center of Excellence: evaluation and treatment for Parkinson's disease and other movement disorders, including deep brain stimulation
• Multiple Sclerosis Center: the largest in the mid-Atlantic, known for specialized therapies
• Neuromuscular Diseases Clinic: offered with the Muscular Dystrophy Association
• Multidisciplinary Spine Center: advanced treatments for spinal cord tumors, spine cancer, neck disorders, and degenerative conditions, often minimally invasive or using CyberKnife

Scheduling options include Part-Time and PRN.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver proficient nursing care to patients with varying needs, from uncomplicated to highly complex. Identify current and potential problems, analyze patient trends, and plan appropriate interventions, either directly or through other nurses.

Qualifications

• ADN, BSN, MSN, or CNL from an accredited nursing school.
• Prior clinical nursing experience preferred.
• Active DC RN license and BLS for Healthcare Providers required.

The position offers a salary range of $38.00 - $63.30 per hour.
