Research Medical Center in the Kansas City region is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Neuro Progressive Care unit. This role focuses on high-quality, patient-centered care for stroke and cardiac patients, coordinating with medical providers and supporting pre- and post-operative nursing care.

The unit is designated as a Comprehensive Stroke Center and offers opportunities to collaborate with neurology teams, with a strong emphasis on education and career development.

Qualifications

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 30 days of start date.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) within 30 days of start date.
• Registered Nurse (RN) and RN Diploma required.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition on admission and at each shift.
• Perform procedures or functions ordered by the provider.
• Document care in the patient record in a timely manner.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor response.
• Maintain knowledge of meds and equipment for cardiac and medical-surgical patients.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Progressive Care Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care. In collaboration with medical providers, the RN provides pre-operative and post-operative nursing care. The RN serves as an advocate for patients to support an unparalleled patient experience.

What you will do in this role

• Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
• Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by the medical provider.
• Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Perform the administration of prescribed medications and monitors response.
• Maintain a knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in the care of cardiac and medical-surgical patients.

What qualifications you will need

• Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
