Job summary

AdventHealth seeks a Registered Nurse for the Neuro ICU to perform comprehensive patient assessments, create individualized care plans, and administer treatments. You will collaborate with physicians and the care team to ensure safe, effective patient outcomes and document all care in the EMR.

Night shifts, sign-on bonus, and education/career development opportunities are included. The role requires an RN license, BLS, and ACLS.

Job Description:

Minimum Pay: $35 / hour Work Schedule: 3 x 12 hour shifts, rotating weekends, 7:00 pm to 7:00 am Sign on Bonus: $15,000 Professional Excellence Program: Up To 20% differential of total base pay based on level advancement, aligned to education and certification progression to support career growth The Registered Nurse RN Neuro ICU conducts comprehensive patient assessments to gather data on health status and needs. Develop and implement individualized care plans based on assessment findings and medical diagnoses. Administer medications and treatments accurately as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and adherence to protocols. Monitor and evaluate patient responses to interventions, adjusting care plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes. Provide education and counseling to patients and their families about health conditions, treatment plans, medications, and self-care strategies. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care. Document patient care activities, including assessments, care plans, interventions, and outcomes, accurately and timely in the electronic medical record (EMR). Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and organizational policies. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes. Supervise and mentor nursing staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality care. Maintain a safe and clean work environment by adhering to infection control policies and safety protocols. Respond promptly to life-threatening situations using established protocols and critical care skills.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

The Registered Nurse RN Neuro ICU utilizes skills required to work in critical care area as defined by unit

• Excellent organization and interpersonal communication skills
• Basic computer skills - must be able to navigate Microsoft windows based programs
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing

• Effective verbal and oral communication and problem-solving skills
• Must be able to use a high level of abstract reasoning to assess patient, evaluate interventions, and revise plan of care according to patient outcomes
• Knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures
• Ability to provide leadership, direction, and solve complex problems
• Performs accurate documentation within the electronic medical record
• Ability to demonstrate proficiency in clinical skills, multi-tasking, and a professional bedside manner
• Knowledgeable in assigned areas of patient care including health promotion and maintenance
• EKG knowledge (based on patient population; see document EKG and Advanced Life Support Requirements)
• Previous experience with Cerner Electronic Medical Record [Preferred]
• Previous EKG Interpretation Class [Preferred]
• EPIC [Preferred]

Education:

Associate's of Nursing Required Bachelor's of Nursing Preferred
