$10,000 SIGN ON BONUS FOR NEW GRADUATE RNS!
This is a 20 bed Neuro Acute Floor focusing on many neurological disorders under three services: Neurosurgery, General Neurology, and Stroke Neurology. Some diagnoses include ischemic stroke, epilepsy, autoimmune disorders, cervical fusions, lumbar fusions, etc. The staffing mix includes Registered Nurses, Patient Care Technicians, and Charge RNs, all working 12-hour shifts (7a-7p or 7p-7a). The nursing team collaborates with other services to safely discharge patients to home or rehab. Patients range from medically ready for discharge to those requiring longer hospital stays. Skills utilized here include cardiac rhythm interpretation, neurological assessments, spinal cord assessments, pre-op and post-op education, surgical dressing changes, surgical drains, wounds, and tracheostomy care.

Job Description
General Summary
  • This role is reserved for new graduates or nurses with less than 12 months of experience. Develops nursing practice and supports unit goals. Functions as a member of a multidisciplinary team. Is accountable to patients, families, team members, and the nurse manager for care and performance.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
  • Maryland RN licensure or eligibility via Compact agreements.
  • Current CPR certification.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to provide appropriate care for the patient population, including growth and development considerations.
  • Ability to learn and use computer systems for managing patient information.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Patient Safety
  • Ensure patient safety, participate in safety initiatives, report risks and adverse events, and communicate risks to management.
