Job summary

ChristianaCare is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join the 6B Medical Unit on the night shift. The role involves three 12-hour shifts per week (7p-7a) with a 20% shift differential and weekend/holiday coverage per department guidelines.

The 6B unit cares for up to 40 adults with acute and chronic medical conditions, including pneumonia and COPD. The nurse will deliver relationship-based care, collaborate with the care team, and support patient safety and comfort.

Qualifications

• At least one year of med/surg experience as an RN is required.
• BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care on the 6B Medical Unit during night shifts.
• Assist with care coordination and patient safety for acutely ill patients.

ChristianaCare Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our 6B Medical Unit.

The selected candidate will work three 12-hour shifts each week.

Unit6B is an inpatient unit designed to accommodate 40 patients who need acute and/or chronic medical services.

The scope of services on 6B encompasses a variety of diagnoses/testing, including, but not limited to, pneumonia, syncope, diabetes management, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and altered mental status.

The patient population cared for in this area includes adults aged 18 years and above.

The condition of patients cared for on the unit ranges from good to fair.

Patients are received/transferred/admitted from the emergency department, ICU, step-down unit, home, and doctors' offices.

Staffing: RNs have 5-6 patients. The charge nurse is responsible for daily assignments, considering each patient's diagnosis, condition, acuity, age, developmental level, and the qualifications of the staff.

Education & Experience:

• RN License in Delaware or a Compact State
• BSN preferred or committed to acquiring BSN within 3 years of the hire date.
• At least one year of med/surg experience as an RN is required.
• BLS required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Hourly Pay Range:

Hourly Pay Range: $41.28 - $66.05This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare's good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
