HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake is hiring a Surgical Med Surg Registered Nurse – Acute Inpatient to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care. You will work with physicians and the care team, following nursing models such as Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage, and advocate for patients and families.

You will assess admission, coordinate care across departments, administer medications with documentation, coordinate discharge planning, and communicate clearly with the care team.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN preferred).
• Current Texas RN license or Multi-State Compact with Texas license within 60 days of hire.
• American Heart Association BLS certification required.
• 1 year RN experience in an acute care setting required.

Responsabilidades

• Assess, plan, and implement admission process.
• Coordinate care and collaborate with other departments to meet patient needs.
• Administer medications; reassess patient response and document findings.
• Coordinate discharge planning and case management from the Direct Admit Unit.
• Maintain clear, respectful communication with patients, families, physicians, and care team.

Job Summary And Qualifications

As a Surgical Med Surg Registered Nurse - Acute Inpatient, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in line with the requirements of the department and the standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. Collaborating with medical providers and the care team, you will provide personalized, comprehensive, and compassionate care, following established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage." You will also act as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, embodying the organization's vision, mission, and values to ensure an outstanding patient experience and positive clinical outcomes.

• You will be responsible for assessing, planning and implementing the admission process.
• You will be responsible for coordinating care and collaborating with other departments to ensure positive patient outcomes and that all of the needs of the patients and significant others are met.
• You will be responsible for the administration of medications, knowledge of actions, indications, adverse reactions, dosage, and route. Also, must reassess patients for effectiveness of medication and document appropriately.
• You will coordinate discharge planning/case management services from the Direct Admit Unit.
• You will maintain clear and respectful communication with patient, family, physician, and other healthcare providers. Practice excellent customer service at all times.

What qualifications you will need:

• Graduated from an accredited school of nursing with an Associates or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
• Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License (Employees with RN Compact License are required to obtain Texas RN License within 60 days of hire date).
• American Heart Association BLS Certification is required.
• 1 year RN experience in an acute care setting required
