Job summary

University Hospitals is hiring an RN to provide safe, evidence-based nursing care on the UH Parma 3 Medical unit. The role involves complex patient presentations across Med Surg and Tele Observation with a 1:4-6 ratio, and a focus on discharge planning and collaboration with the care team.

Qualifications include Ohio RN or compact license, BLS, and unit-based ACLS/PALS requirements. Diploma in Nursing or ADN is required; BSN or MN is preferred.

Qualifications

• RN license in Ohio and/or Multi-State Compact (Required Upon Hire).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Required Upon Hire.
• ACLS may be required depending on unit standards.
• PALS may be required depending on unit standards.
• Diploma in Nursing or ADN required; BSN preferred; MN preferred.

A Brief Overview

UH Parma 3 Medical is an 18 bed unit. Patient ratio is 1:4-6. This is a Med Surg and Tele Observation unit. Many diagnoses; chest pain, nausea/vomiting, confusion, fall, stroke like symptoms, UTI, weakness, dizziness etc.Our unit has a broad range of experiences and age group of staff members with all different backgrounds. we see many different diagnoses and we have fast turnover with our patients.

Education

• Other Accredited Program: Diploma in Nursing or
• (ADN) Associate's Degree in Nursing (Required)
• (BSN) Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Preferred)
• (MN) Master in Nursing (Preferred)

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Knowledge of nursing process and practice. (Required proficiency)
• Uses a wide variety of technical equipment to meet patient needs and prescribed clinical therapies (ie. stethoscopes, thermometers, sphygmomanometers and electronic monitoring devices. (Required proficiency)

Licenses and Certifications

• Registered Nurse (RN), Ohio and/or Multi State Compact License (Required Upon Hire) and
• Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required Upon Hire)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) May be required based on the clinical care standards of the unit. Refer to ACLS/PALS Unit Requirements document found on DWP Nursing Portal to determine requirements by unit.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) May be required based on the clinical care standards of the unit. Refer to ACLS/PALS Unit Requirements document found on DWP Nursing Portal to determine requirements by unit.
