Job summary

Memorial Physician Practices is looking for a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide patient care in Ottumwa, Iowa. The RN will work under the supervision of the Director, performing various nursing interventions and coordinating patient care.

Position Summary

The Registered Nurse works under the supervision of the Director and is responsible for caring for the patient and the development of nursing plan of care.

• Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
• Documents patient care and monitors patient condition, communicating with care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Coordinates patient care across disciplines, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and support needs.
• Provides patient and family education appropriate to age, culture, and circumstances.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well‑being of patients.
• Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited registered nursing program required with a current unencumbered Registered Nurse License in Iowa or from a Compact State.
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Recent RN experience

Preferred Qualifications

• One (1) year medical/surgical nursing experience
