Job summary

OSF HealthCare is seeking a Registered Nurse to protect, promote, and restore health at the highest licensure level. You will collaborate with providers and the care team to coordinate care across the continuum, support patients and families, and mentor colleagues.

Unit details include 46 beds, general medicine patients, and nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:6. Weekend and holiday requirements apply as part of the schedule.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse licensure by the State Board of Nursing in Illinois or Michigan.
• Current American Heart Association HealthCare Provider BLS is required prior to start date.
• BSN preferred.
• Experience as an RN in a healthcare environment preferred.
• Electronic Medical Record and Microsoft applications proficiency.

Pay range for this position is $34.25 - $51.13/hour. Actual pay is based on years of licensure. This is an Hourly position.

Night Differential: $4.00/hr

Weekend Differential: $3.25/hr

Overview

Medical Surgical Acute

Number of beds on unit: 46

Patient Population or type of patients cared for on unit: general medicine patients (primarily adults, but can take a small population of pediatric patients)

Nurse to patient ratios: 1:4-1:6

Nursing skills/equipment used: BLS will be required once working, telemetry monitoring, patient lift equipment

Weekend/holiday or call schedules or any other scheduling items: Weekend and holiday requirements (every third weekend and two holidays per year)

POSITION SUMMARY

Protects, promotes and restores health and wellness by practicing at the highest level of the Registered Nurse licensure; collaborating with providers and multidisciplinary care team members to provide care coordination across the continuum. Assesses and supports physical symptoms, provides psychological support to patients, friends, and families, mentors assigned team members, promotes best practices, and maintains professional disposition at all times. The RN Hospital Inpatient/ED operates in units that provide 24/7 care in the hospital.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• License/Certifications: Current Registered Nurse licensure by the State Board of Nursing in appropriate state (Illinois or Michigan)
• Current American Heart Association HealthCare Provider BLS is required prior to start date of employment.

• Education: BSN
• Experience: Experience as an RN in a healthcare environment
• Other skills/knowledge: Electronic Medical Record and Microsoft application basic proficiency
