Job summary

Raleigh General Hospital, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Medical-Surgical unit in Beckley, WV. The 4N ward handles a mix of surgical and medical cases, including renal care, with a 6:1 patient ratio and 44 beds.

The Infusions Clinic operates Mon–Thu for infusion services, and the Dialysis Unit provides inpatient hemodialysis with 24/6 coverage and Sunday on-call. Join a collaborative team focused on high-quality patient care and professional growth.

Qualifications

• Current state RN license is required.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing school.
• Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS within six months of hire.
• One year of experience preferred.

• Performs accurate and thorough patient assessments and identifies patient needs.
• Initiates appropriate nursing interventions based on assessment findings.
• Provides age- and condition-appropriate nursing care.
• Completes timely and accurate documentation supporting medical necessity in the medical record.
• Develops, implements, and revises interdisciplinary care plans for each patient.

Our 4N department is a dynamic 44-bed medical-surgical unit where nurses manage a 6:1 patient ratio. Our patient population includes a blend of surgical and medical cases, with a special emphasis on renal care. The team here is known for its strong sense of collaboration, making 4N a welcoming and supportive environment, especially for new graduates eager to build their skills. Team members gain experience with a wide range of interventions, including various lines, chest tubes, peritoneal dialysis, and telemetry patients. The Infusions Clinic operates Monday through Thursday as an outpatient center dedicated exclusively to infusion services, staffed solely by registered nurses. Our Dialysis Unit provides inpatient hemodialysis and is open 24 hours a day, six days a week, with on-call coverage each Sunday. Care is delivered by registered nurses with specialized expertise in dialysis.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess a bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

• Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.

ASLS certification preferred
