Job summary

Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Medical ICU in Winston-Salem, NC. The MICU cares for critically ill adults with a range of conditions, featuring 32 beds split across two units and dedicated nursing stations.

You will provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care, guided by evidence-based practice and clinical judgment. Ideal candidates hold an accredited nursing program, RN license for the state of practice, BLS, ACLS within 6 months of hire, and

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing.
• Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• ACLS certification within 6 months of hire.
• 1–2 years RN experience preferred.
• As a skilled and compassionate RN, provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process per standards.

Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical ICU

Winston‑Salem, NC, United States

Where You Will Work

The Medical ICU is an adult 32-bed unit overseeing the care of critically ill patients of all kinds including but not limited to pulmonary disorders and infections, end‑stage renal disease, gastrointestinal bleeds, sepsis, etc. One 24‑bed unit with a nursing station between each 2-patient assignment. One 8‑bed open‑bay unit with a nursing station facing eight semi‑private rooms. MICU nurses are experienced in managing the treatment of critically ill patients with complex illnesses which are simultaneously affecting various body systems.

Expectations We’re Looking For

• Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
• Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
• ACLS are required within 6 months of hire
• 1‑2 years RN experience preferred
