Registered Nurse (RN) - MedSurg-Telemetry, full time, nights, Up to $15,000 Sign On Bonus

Full-Time - Night Shift

General Summary

This role is considered the minimum role for all nurses with more than 12 months of experience. It involves providing and coordinating independent care to patients within a clinical specialty as a fully effective member of the multidisciplinary team. The nurse utilizes the institution’s care delivery and professional practice models, participates in practice development activities, and is accountable for patient care, family, team, and performance standards, including adherence to Service Standards and the Nursing Mission, Vision, and Values.

Principal Responsibilities and Tasks

The following are general descriptions of the work performed by personnel in this classification, not an exhaustive list:

Clinical Practice:
  • Competency in care of the specific patient population; practices independently with solid knowledge and skills; actively advances own practice.
  • Serves as a clinical resource for colleagues.
  • Applies evidence-based practices.
  • Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to plan and coordinate care, advocating for patient and family needs.
  • Models safe, timely, effective, efficient, equitable, and patient-centered care.
Professional Development:
  • Engages in ongoing practice development.
  • Maintains required competencies and focuses on professional growth.
  • Attends unit-based staff development independently.
  • Serves as a preceptor and coach for new nurses and students.
  • Contributes to orientation and educational activities.
  • Supports the development of nursing support personnel.
  • Completes annual CE requirements.
Service/Quality:
  • Contributes to unit-based outcomes related to quality measures and indicators.
  • Supports research, evidence-based practice, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Delivers high-quality, safe, patient-centered care exceeding service expectations.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory standards and participates in tracer activities.
Patient Safety:
  • Acts to correct safety risks.
  • Reports adverse events and near misses.
  • Implements policies and guidelines consistently.
  • Maintains effective communication and teamwork.
  • Identifies potential risks and communicates them appropriately.
  • Participates in safety initiatives.
Operations:
  • Demonstrates ability to function as a charge nurse.
  • Participates in team-building and governance activities.
  • Provides performance feedback and participates in recruitment and retention efforts.

Qualifications

  • RN licensure in Maryland or eligible via Compact agreement.
  • More than 12 months of nursing experience with solid clinical skills.
  • Current AHA BLS certification.

Compensation

  • Pay Range: $37/hr - $51.81/hr
  • Other: $15,000 Sign-On Bonus, pay differentials applicable
