Job summary

AdventHealth in Orlando, FL is seeking an experienced RN for a full-time night shift. You will conduct comprehensive assessments, plan and implement patient care, administer medications, and educate patients and families while collaborating with the care team.

Eligible clinicians may earn ladder-based salary increases and a sign-on bonus up to $5,000. Requires RN license, ADN/BSN, and BLS; 36 hours weekly, nights 7pm–7am.

Qualifications

• Registered nurse with active license (RN).
• Associate degree in nursing required; BSN preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• 1+ year of acute care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments across physical, psychological, and social factors.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans and revise as needed.
• Administer medications and treatments safely per orders and protocols.
• Educate patients and families about conditions and self-care.
• Coordinate with medical staff to optimize patient care and communication.
• Maintain timely, accurate documentation in the medical record.

Job Description:

Up to $5,000 Sign-on Bonus

Terms: 12-month Full-time Employment Contract Required for Sign-On and Relocation

Sign-on Eligibility:

• One (1) year of applicable experience
• Internal Candidates and Rehires within 12 months are not eligible

Relocation Eligibility:

• Must live 50 miles outside of campus address
• Rehires that are less than 12 months from separation date are not eligible

Schedule Full time, 36 hours

Shift Nights, 7pm to 7am

Primary Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors of patients.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and standards of care, regularly evaluating and revising these plans as necessary.
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, following physician orders and hospital protocols, and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, medications, and self-care strategies to promote understanding and compliance.
• Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate and optimize patient care, ensuring effective communication and teamwork.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient information, care activities, interventions, and outcomes in the medical record.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Organizational and multi-tasking skills
• Knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures
• Ability to work as a Team player within a unit
• Effective verbal and oral communication and problem-solving skills
• EKG competency
• Must be fluent in English (read, verbal and written skills)
• Basic computer skills – must be able to navigate Microsoft windows based programs
• Must be able to use a high level of abstract reasoning to assess patient, evaluate interventions, and revise plan of care according to patient outcomes

Education:

• Associate's of Nursing [Required]
• Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]

Work Experience:

• 1+ acute care hospital setting [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications:

• Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]
• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
