Job summary

St. Elizabeth Healthcare is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Med Surg - Pulmonary unit at our Edgewood, Kentucky location. This position supports our mission of compassionate care and offers a night shift from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am, part-time, 24 hours weekly.

The RN will provide evidence-based care, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and ensure patients receive high-quality nursing services. Eligible candidates should be a graduate from an accredited School of Nursing with a multi-state

Qualifications

• Graduate from accredited School of Nursing. If eligible, must have a Compact (multi-state) License in their primary state of residence.
• Specialized knowledge includes nursing theory, clinical practice standards, procedures, and competence in calculations related to medication administration.
• Experience completing preceptorship and orientation to facility and clinical area; ability to think critically in routine and emergency situations.

Responsibilities

• Provide evidence-based clinical care using the nursing process.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care with interdisciplinary teams to achieve patient outcomes.
• Delegate tasks appropriately to licensed and unlicensed health care staff.

Job Description:

The licensed registered nurse is a professional nurse who is responsible and accountable for providing evidence-based clinical care to designated patients utilizing the nursing process. This is accomplished by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care according to established ethical/cultural codes and standards of nursing practices and working collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to achieve patient outcomes. The registered nurse is responsible to delegate tasks appropriately to other licensed and unlicensed health care team members. Demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness and empathy in each encounter with all patients, families, visitors and other employees regardless of cultural background.

Qualifications

Education, Credentials, Licenses:

Graduate from accredited School of Nursing. If eligible, must have a Compact (multi-state) License in their primary state of residence. Licensed to practice nursing in the state where work is being performed. Meets contact hour requirements for licensure, including all state-required courses. Focus of education promotes nurses' ability to practice in clinical area assigned.

Specialized Knowledge:

Demonstrates knowledge of nursing theory, clinical practice standards, procedures, policies and competence in mathematical calculations associated with medication administration. Competent to independently perform safe nursing skills and procedures.

Kind and Length of Experience:

Successful completion of preceptorship and orientation to the facility and clinical area. Able to critically think and problem solve in routine and emergency situations.
