Job summary

St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring a Registered Nurse for a float position between the ED and Med Surg units located at the Grant hospital location. Schedule: Night shift, 7:00 pm – 7:00 am; Full-time, 36 hours weekly.

This role provides opportunities to collaborate with multiple teams and deliver high-quality patient-centered care. The RN will assess, plan, implement and evaluate care while supporting patients and staff across departments.

Qualifications

• Education, Credentials, Licenses: Graduate from accredited School of Nursing. If eligible, must have a Compact (multi-state) License in their primary state of residence. Licensed to practice nursing in the state where work is being performed. Meets contact hour requirements for licensure, including all state-required courses. Focus of education promotes nurses’ ability to practice in clinical area assigned.
• Specialized Knowledge: Demonstrates knowledge of nursing theory, clinical practice standards, procedures, policies and competence in mathematical calculations associated with medication administration. Competent to independently perform safe nursing skills and procedures.
• Kind and Length of Experience: Successful completion of preceptorship and orientation to the facility and clinical area. Able to critically think and problem solve in routine and emergency situations.

Responsibilities

• Provide evidence-based clinical care using the nursing process with interdisciplinary teams to achieve patient outcomes.
• Delegate tasks to licensed and unlicensed health care team members.
• Demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness and empathy toward patients and families.

Job Description

The licensed registered nurse is a professional nurse who is responsible and accountable for providing evidence-based clinical care to designated patients utilizing the nursing process. This is accomplished by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care according to established ethical/cultural codes and standards of nursing practices and working collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to achieve patient outcomes.
