REGISTERED NURSE (RN) - MED/SURG (PART-TIME, DAYS)

Join Johnson Memorial Health as a Registered Nurse (RN) - Med/Surg (Part-Time, Days).

Job Responsibilities:

• Obtain and record initial assessments, establishing priorities based on patient age, symptoms, and psychosocial needs.
• Reassess patients systematically to monitor progress and identify trends requiring intervention. Implement and document timely interventions, recognizing and responding to emergencies.
• Make comprehensive nursing decisions based on interpretation of facts and patient outcomes.
• Participate in patient and significant other health education and discharge planning.
• Coordinate team assignments, adjust based on patient and unit needs, and follow up on delegated tasks for quality and completeness. Use appropriate chain of command for issue resolution.
• Assist in orientation of new staff.
• Maintain a neat, organized, and safe environment for patients and staff.
• Contribute to the unit’s continuous quality improvement initiatives.
• Serve as a resource to visitors, physicians, and staff, greeting them promptly and courteously.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• Support Johnson Memorial Health’s Mission and Values and ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, standards, and policies, including Blood and Body Substance Precautions.

Additional Requirements:

• Critical Care Unit: ACLS or ALS certification within 6 months of hire; must pass dysrhythmia recognition test during orientation.
• Emergency Department: ACLS or ALS certification during orientation; PALS or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course within one year.
• Maternity Center: ACLS or ALS Certification; NPR certification within 3 months.

Qualifications:

• Indiana RN licensure required.
• BLS or CPR for Healthcare Providers Certification required.
• PALS Certification for pediatric care staff.

Schedule: 6:00 a.m. - 6:30 p.m., 48 hours per bi-weekly pay period.
