Job summary

Essentia Health in Fargo, ND is seeking a registered nurse in the Med/Surg/Ortho area with a 0.9 FTE commitment. You will provide holistic nursing care during day and night rotations on the 32nd Ave building, starting at 7:00.

The unit handles post-op orthopedic cases and general surgical patients with a focus on safe, high‑quality care. The role requires a BSN or ADN and RN licensure in the state, with BCLS certification within one month.

Qualifications

• Current nursing licensure in state(s) of employment.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within one month.
• RN Hiring Incentive eligible position; incentives up to $7500 (ADN) and up to $10,000 (BSN).

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Delegate care to licensed nursing personnel according to licensure and job descriptions.
• Support facility mission and comply with Joint Commission and other regulations.

Our Ortho unit sees:

• Complex total knee, hip, and shoulder post-op patients
• Generalized fracture post-op patients which could include pelvic, hip, etc.
• Medical and Surgical patients include COPD, abdominal pain/GI bleeds, hernia repairs, ENT procedures, and post‑op urological patients.

Responsible for organizing and providing nursing care to patients through the process of assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. Delegates aspects of care to other nursing personnel based upon their licensure, preparation, and job descriptions. Contributes to the meeting of the mission and goals of the facility and Essentia, and meets the requirements of the Joint Commission if applicable and/or other federal, state, and local regulatory or accrediting agencies
