Job summary

Community Health Network is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Med/Surg/Oncology Unit at Community East Hospital in Indianapolis. The RN will deliver patient care across the cancer and hematology spectrum, following professional standards and hospital mission.

You will work with a supportive team, gain ONC certification within a year, and collaborate with educators to customize onboarding. Growth and coaching are emphasized for lifelong learning in oncology.

Qualifications

• Graduate of NLN/CCNE/ACEN accredited nursing program or three years of related professional nursing experience.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Indiana with active license.
• Chemotherapy certification required within six months of hire.
• Two years of RN experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care in the Med/Surg/Oncology unit, focusing on safe, cost-effective practices.
• Collaborate with unit educator to tailor onboarding and orientation to learning needs.
• Demonstrate professional standards in practice and participate in care coordination within the nursing team.

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for demonstrating performance consistent with professional standards of practice, care, performance, the Nurse Practice Act, and the mission and goals of the Community Health Network. The RN manages patient care in the healthcare continuum to achieve optimum outcomes in a safe and cost-effective manner and demonstrates skills in collaboration, delegation, negotiation, and management of resources.

The Med/Surg/Oncology Unit at Community East Hospital cares for a variety of patients including medical and surgical care for a variety of cancers and hematology diagnoses. Nurses in this area will gain a wide range of skills, including ONC certification within one year.

The Med/Surg/Oncology unit is a highly supportive environment. New nurse hires will collaborate with a unit-based educator to develop an onboarding and orientation plan which is customized to their learning needs. Exceptional Skills And Qualifications

• Graduate of National League for Nursing (NLN), Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), or National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA) accredited school of nursing, or three years of related professional nursing experience
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid license to practice in the state of Indiana as listed in the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC)
• Two years of RN experience preferred
• Required to become chemotherapy certified within six months of hire.
