Riverside Health is seeking a Medsurg Float RN in Newport News, Virginia. The RN will be responsible for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care for assigned patients, working in various settings of the Medical/Surgical Complex.
Requirements include a Nursing Diploma, 2 years of hospital experience, and RN licensure for Virginia. This position may require weekend and irregular shifts across multiple locations.

Medsurg Float RN works under the supervision of the Nurse Manager and the Director and is responsible for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care for assigned patients. The RN will float to a variety of settings in the Medsurg Complex at RHS Trauma Center per requirements in the PRN Float Agreement. The RN may work in a variety of settings in the Medical/Surgical Complex and roles within Riverside Health System. The RN utilizes communication, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making to create a care plan for each patient based on physiological, psychosocial, and cultural diversity. The RN supervises and delegates non‑professional personnel working directly with them to ensure optimum patient care. The RN demonstrates competency in age‑related needs of the specific patient populations served in the Medical/Surgical units/departments, and works under the direction of leadership and a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive services or clinical care in accordance with standards of excellence established by Riverside Health System.
