Job Opening: Registered Nurse (RN) – 4 South Ortho - Southside Medical Center

Location: Southside Regional Medical Center, a 300-bed community hospital serving Petersburg, Hopewell, Colonial Heights, Fort Lee, Chester, and surrounding counties.

Position Details:

• Department: 4 South - Ortho/Bariatrics/Urology
• Type: Full-time, Days
• Hours: 36 hours/week, 12-hour shifts
• Potential sign-on bonus (restrictions apply)

Job Summary:

The Med-Surg RN provides exceptional nursing care by assessing patient status, managing care for medical and surgical diagnoses, implementing interventions, developing care plans, and ensuring a safe environment.

Essential Functions:

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
• Assess vital signs, administer IV medications, and monitor patient condition
• Update and revise care plans to achieve outcomes
• Administer medications safely in accordance with policies
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred
• Minimum one year RN experience required
• Six months RN experience in an acute care hospital preferred

Licensing & Certifications:

• Current RN license in the state
• BLS certification (preferred upon hire; ACLS acceptable in lieu of BLS)
