Summary:
Independently performs the functions of a registered nurse in direct patient care. Utilizes the nursing process in the delivery of developmentally appropriate care. Works in collaboration with other health care professionals to provide a comprehensive plan of care to meet the patient/family needs.

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible and accountable for prescribing, delegating, and coordinating patient care.
  • Uses clinical judgment based on nursing skills acquired through formal and informal experiential knowledge and evidence-based guidelines to assess the patient's situation.
  • Develops an appropriate plan of care for the patient, promoting comfort.
  • Accountable for patient care meeting standards of safety, effectiveness, patient rights, and guest relations.
  • Oversees care delivered by the patient care team; coordinates the plan of care.
  • Provides education and facilitates learning for patients, families, and patient care team.
  • Collaborates with physicians, families, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Advocates for the patient and identifies and assists in resolving ethical and clinical concerns.
  • Accurately documents all patient encounters in EPIC.
  • Ensures that Patient Health Information (PHI) is protected.
  • Adheres to all infection prevention initiatives.
  • Delivers competent and skilled care to patients and families.
  • Continuously inquires about the condition of the patient and implements treatment changes as necessary.
  • Maintains knowledge and tools to manage resources for the patient/family.
How You’ll Be Successful:
WORK EXPERIENCE
  • At least 1 year of RN experience Required
EDUCATION
  • Two-year Associate's degree or equivalent experience Required
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
  • Current license to practice professional nursing in the State of Texas Required
  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers Required
